Liz joined the photojournalism staff at the Gazette in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, five years ago. After a decade-long obsession with art, she put down the paint brushes and pencils and picked up her mom’s vintage Nikon while in high school and has had a camera in hand nearly every day since, documenting the lives of friends and strangers. A native Oklahoman and Texan transplant, she graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 2006 and continued working her way north with internships in Washington and Utah before returning to Cedar Rapids in 2007.
